It was a tough life for Mike behind bars, and yet he survived. Now he's about to be set free.

At the start of "Suits" Season 6, viewers saw Mike's life in prison and how it dramatically changed through his interactions with fellow inmates. The big question on everyone's mind right now is what would happen to Mike after he gets out of prison. Will find a way to continue practicing law? Is he still in the same solid relationship with Rachel?

In an interview with TVLine, actor Patrick J. Adams revealed that the biggest struggle for his character is "figuring out what he does with his life, because being a lawyer is obviously not in the cards as of now."

In true Mike fashion, Adams said the former Pearson Specter Litt lawyer still wants to help people and is figuring out a way to make that happen.

Although nothing is set in stone in Mike's life for now, one thing's certain: he's no longer the same person he once was. "He's more and more mature. He's getting closer and closer to the person that he wants to be. So there's a level of strength and confidence in knowing that he doesn't have to hide from anybody anymore," Adams added about how prison life has molded Mike into becoming this brand new person.

Adams also addressed the Mike and Rachel situation, saying things are going to be different for the couple. In Mike's absence, Rachel was also able to grow as a person and focus on her dreams. But Mike is not at all threatened by Rachel's new priorities. As a matter of fact, Adams said Mike has "nothing but love and admiration and respect and wants to help her in every possible way."

Perhaps the relationship most affected by Mike's imprisonment is that of Mike and Harvey. Tension has developed between the duo, especially after Mike said he was ashamed of the work he did in the past few years and that he no longer wanted help people who didn't need help. It's a conflict of interest, considering corporate law is where Harvey thrives and it's also essentially what brought them two together.

However, Adams assured fans the two will remain close. "While there could be a lot of conflict between them, the love and the loyalty and the trust outweighs all of that," he told ET. "I think for these two characters, they always start from a place of how do we do what's best for each other and make sure we have each other's backs."

"Suits" Season 6 airs every Wednesday night on USA Network.
