The past seasons of "House of Cards" did not deprive their viewers of the possibility that Frank Underwood could die at any moment. Given his old age and the many instances, Frank was at the verge of death, anything can happen. Recent predictions suggest Frank's most trusted Doug, will be killing him in the upcoming season.

Now that the Netflix original series is returning next year, several speculations are being made up by followers, with some popping the question if there is anyone who is going to say goodbye. In an interview with Deadline, Michael Kelly, the actor who plays the role of Frank's right hand Doug Stamper, delivered a cryptic message saying, "You lose characters that you love."

The actor also added that it was pretty obvious from that past seasons that viewers almost lost Frank, and writers would not be straying away too much from what was originally meant to happen. For Mahershala Ali who plays Remy Danton, he thinks it would be a great story turn-around if Stamper would be the one killing the aspiring president.

Ali explained that fans are already expecting Frank would get hurt a couple of times, but surprising the audience of whom shall be doing the act would impact the TV series in a way, The Wrap reported. However, Kelly does not think this is possible as he explained that both Frank and Doug trust each other really well. The actor added Doug has to hurt himself first before he can even turn in Frank for some reason.

The cast member also justified that for the past four seasons that aired, neither of the two turned in each other, adding the two characters trust each other "to the ends of the Earth."

Meanwhile, one major cast member is not returning to the TV series as the actor felt his role is already done with the show. He also added there are already too much people in the cast that production will cannot accommodate each of the person's characters.
