In April, the g.o.d. vocalist surprised many with a slimmer body, losing almost 50 pounds or 23 kilos. Seeing his chin for the first time in five years makes him look in the mirror at all times, he told the other singers and the audience of "Immortal Song."

Hailed as one of South Korea's most talented vocalists, Tae Woo is known for his powerful voice and charming personality. He is the lead singer of g.o.d., meaning, "groove overdose," one of the most famous K-pop groups in the 2000s. Before joining the mandatory two-year military service, he released "Be Alright" in 2007 as a way of telling his fans he will be alright and hoped for their continued support.

After his military service in 2009, Tae Woo released "T-Virus," which included the hit single "Love Rain," a song that narrates a love that ended up but is kept remembered whenever the rain falls. Kim's strong voice complemented with the song's great arrangement and up-tempo. It won him the Male Solo Artist of the Year in 2009 from many Music Awards and Korean Television Associations.

Kim built his own agency, Soulshop Entertainment. He released his album in 2013, called "T-Love."

The singer was recently featured in The Howard Theater's "Night of Soul" in July. It was presented by the New York-based production firm, 7000Miles which specializes in intimate K-pop and jazz live music series.

With Kim were top and finest artists, like Young Joo Song, BIGYUKI, Hyun Wook Yang, Randy Runyon, Sangmin Lee, Dukrae Noh and Sori Kim, The Howard Theatre reported. In 2014, 7000Miles took care of Kim's first solo concert at the 200-capacity Rockwood Music Hall in Lower East Side, New York City.
