The news about the Lee Min Ho ad Bae Suzy split still spreads as Lee left for Spain on Sept. 11, Sunday, to shoot a new South Korean drama, "Legend of the Blue Sea." It makes their followers wonder if it has something to do with his relationship with girlfriend, Miss A's Bae Suzy.
Boyfriend-girlfriend Lee and Bae have been intrigued by breakup rumors recently with claims that she is having an affair with Kim Woo Bin, her co-star in "Uncontrollably Fond." Lee reportedly asked Bae to leave the Korean drama because of jealousy. Kim and Bae repeatedly denied the rumors but it did not stop spreading.
Aside from the Lee Min Ho and Bae Suzy split rumors, it is likewise said the couple's relationship somehow ruined their respective careers. As both are among the well-sought Korean stars who are open about their relationship, their romance has somehow allegedly affected their careers in an undesirable way.
Bae's recent drama "Uncontrollably Fond" did not measure up to expectations when it comes to ratings, while Lee has been surpassed by "Descendants of the Sun" star Song Jong Ki. While many of their followers support the two, their romance is said to be a hindrance to their respective showbiz careers.
Lee himself is busy with his career. His upcoming project, "Legend of a Blue Sea" is a fantasy love story based on an ancient folktale about a fisherman who caught a mermaid, who is returned to the sea by a governor. Lee will play two separate characters - a son of a nobleman in Joseon era and a con artist in modern day Seoul, according to Dramabeans.
Jun Jin Hyun plays a mermaid who adjusts to the life in modern Korea. Her character and Lee will then embark on a romance.
The 20-episode drama is anticipated to make it big when it premieres in 2017. Lee is excited for his role in the fantasy drama and to work with top actress Jun whom he expects to learn a lot from. Lee Hee Joon, Moon Sori, Shin Hye-Sun, Na Young Hee and Lee Ji-Hoon also star in the drama.
The drama's writer Park Ji Eun had thought of Lee and Jun since the early stages of the project to be the best couple. Their chemistry is expected to go beyond imagination, Dramafever reported.
