"Blindspot" Season 2 episode 1 spoilers roundup

"In the second-season opener, Jane's recaptured by the FBI and they ask her to become a triple agent, supplying them with info while spying on her old terrorist group," reads the synopsis.

Meanwhile, executive producer Martin Gero talked to Entertainment Weekly about second season being "darker."

Season 2 will pick up three months later and Jane is being tortured in CIA black site.

"We're picking up three months later. Jane's been in a CIA black site and tortured for three months, so she's not in a great headspace. Then likewise, Weller and the team, they've moved on. They're back to just doing their regular cases of the week. They're not pursuing the tattoos. We find out very quickly that they didn't know that Jane was in a black site," Gero said.

"The CIA swooped in and took custody. Certainly, that's not what they wanted. As much as they were angry at her, no one wants anyone to be tortured. What it did for us is it allowed us to start the season on a somewhat equal ground. It's not Jane apologizing for the first half of the season. She definitely has things to apologize about, but so do they. She's been treated very poorly by the government. It just allows them to be a little more on equal footing," Gero added.

Also, in the first part of "Blindspot" Season 2, own allegiance of Jane will be in play. The first season of the show focused on Jane being in the FBI as the Trojan horse. In the second season, she would be seen as a double agent.
