While no less than the producer of season 2 of “Descendants of the Sun” had indicated the lead stars would no longer be Song Joong-ki and Song Hye Kyo, fans who want to see the two together continue to speculate. Won Seok, the writer of season 1, has refused to work for season 2 because the story has been told the way he wanted it to.
But like Song Joong-ki’s birthday on Sept. 19 which is also fraught with speculations – such as the actor allegedly proposing marriage to Song Hye Kyo – season 2 rumors include the two stars playing parents, reported HealthAim. The website’s basis is another unconfirmed report from itechpost that the two actors were allegedly spotted talking to one of the season 2 writers.
The sites insists, despite absence of official confirmation from the actors, that the two are allegedly carefully studying and planning their next move since they want season 2 to be as successful as season 1. The speculations gave rise to more rumors that season 2 will tackle more about family life as Song Joong-ki and Song Hye Kyo could marry and bear children in the next season.
But like other reports, the entertainment websites admit no confirmation has been made. It is as reliable as fan speculations that the two Hallyu stars have been spotted dating overseas, in a secret relationship and even Song Joong-ki allegedly planning to ask Song Hye Kyo on his birthday to marry him.
The only thing, at this point, confirmed is Song Joong-ki is shooting “Battleship Island” and Song Hye Kyo has send a coffee and food truck which led to all the speculations about the two.
