Travis Fimmel, the "Warcraft" star accepted the role of Ragnar Lothbrok knowing that his character will die and give way to Ragnar's sons to continue the "Vikings" series. Fans are left asking whether Ragnar Lothbrok will really die in Northumbria in "Vikings" Season 4, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

According to Travis Fimmel, the "Vikings" show will show the fate of Ragnar Lothbrok as close to history as possible. Fimmel revealed that history marked Paris to be the last big victory for Ragnar Lothbrok, so will the "Vikings" series.

In a recent "Vikings Season 4" midseason premiere trailer, Lothbrok was portrayed facing the snake pit of Northumbrias' King Aella. The season will portray the death of Ragnar Lothbrok who died in the hands of vengeful King Aella in historical events.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Vikings" series creator Michael Hirst cautioned fans that Travis Fimmel will yet act out some of the most heart-rending parts for Ragnar Lothbrok when "Vikings Season 4" premieres. Hirst noted that what fans of the History series watched in the "Vikings Season 4" midseason finale is not the end of Ragnar Lothbrok.

The series creator also revealed that he intentionally did the time jump that show the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok, in particular Ivar The Boneless, all grown up at the "Vikings Season 4" midseason finale. According to Hirst, the History series creator wanted to give the viewers a perspective of the relationship of Ragnar Lothbrok and his sons, particularly Ivar The Boneless and Bjorn Ironside who ended up to be the most famous of all his famous sons.

When Travis Fimmel exits Ragnar Lothbrok in "Vikings Season 4," History series viewers will get to know the journey of his sons into the Western World.

Bjorn Ironside, Ivar The Boneless and the rest of the sons of Ragnar Lothbrok will pick up the power and continue to tell the "real" story of the "Vikings" to the world in expected Season 5.

With no official premiere date for "Vikings Season 4" return, viewers should stay alert this fall to close off the story of Ragnar Lothbrok and see Bjorn Ironside and Ivar The Boneless rise to power.
