New details and possible spoilers for "Suicide Squad 2" will feature Katana's past and the "Harley Quinn" could be in the works soon.

Warner Bros. and DC Comics super villain themed film "Suicide Squad" has earned a new gross of $700 million at the worldwide box office, despite the initila divisiveness from the movie critics from its inital release back in August. And now its seems that a sequel to the film could be in the works soon, but there is no word yer as to when will the production nor the plot of the film.

Fortunately one cast member suggested a possible character backstory to which "Suicide Squad 2" could use as actress Karen Fukuhara stated that she wanted to explore the past of Tatsu Yamashiro/Katana in the sequel during the Rose City Comic Con event, 411Mania reported.

Fukuhara added that she would like to see how Katana handles the relationship of her Soultaker sword, her deseased husband and explore further her life before she became the warrior that audiences see now in the film. She also gave praise to her fellow "Suicide Squad" movie co-stars, lauding Will Smith’s leadership and saying Margot Robbie “lived and breathed” Harley Quinn.

One flaw on the "Suicide Squad" movie was the lacked of character exploration as the film gave only glimpse and bits of each of the DC villains past prior to being incarcerated or recruited to Task Force X and hopefully the sequel could give fans more background on them.

In other news, it seems that Margot Robbie will be producing the "Harley Quinn" spin-off film as the "Legend of Tarzan" actress signed a first-look deal with Warner Bros.

Robbie had some production experience through her production company LuckyChap Entertainment, which is currently in post-production on its first feature, a noir thriller "Terminal". In fact, she pitched the concept of a female-centric DC movie to Warner Bros. and the studio “flipped over her take” on it, thus the possibly of the spin-off movie might become a reality.

Producing and developing with Robbie will be her LuckyChap partners Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara and Sophia Kerr, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

For now, there have been release date announcement for "Suicide Squad 2" and the "Harley Quinn" spin-off.
