"Bloodline" Season 3 will be the last of the twisted family drama starring Kyle Chandler. Fans will surely be disappointed to say goodbye to the Sony Pictures Television-produced series, which is set to premiere its final season in 2017.

Shortly after Season 2 premiered on May 27, Netflix ordered another season in July which the streaming platform announced earlier will not be its last. However, Netflix has decided not to continue the Kyle Chandler drama anymore following "Bloodline" Season 3.

"Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler are thoughtful and visionary storytellers, who lead a prestigious cast, that includes Kyle Chandler and Ben Mendelsohn, who have both garnered two Emmy nominations for their roles on the series," Netflix's vice president of original content Cindy Holland said in a statement released to Variety.

"Together, with our collaborative partners at Sony Pictures Television, they created a seductive show that Netflix viewers worldwide love and continue to discover. We are looking forward to the exciting climax KZK have in store for the series conclusion in May 2017."

The decision to cancel "Bloodline" Season 3 came after the show faced a dilemma when Florida discontinued its entertainment tax incentive program, making the TV series costly to produce. Season 3 will be too expensive without the financial incentive of entertainment tax, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Since then, Netflix has decided not to continue the show anymore and made the episode shorter from 13 to 10. It also reduced its licensing fees. The streaming platform and Sony have remained mum on the issues and declined to admit that there is a bad blood between them.

In 2015, series creators and executive producers Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler announced that they have a five or six season plan for the TV series. With the fate of "Bloodline" Season 3, the writers are tasked to write a conclusion for the show. It is uncertain whether Sony is going to shop the show to other networks.

"Bloodline" joins other Netflix programs Norway crime drama "Lilyhammer" and the horror entry "Hemlock Grove," which was cancelled after Season 3. It was a rare move for the streaming company to cancel a TV series. Based from its three-year accomplishment, its roster of programs has grown from five to about 30 original  shows.
