Avid fans of AMC's zombie apocalyptic series "The Walking Dead" have witnessed the trials that beloved characters experienced in previous seasons. The Season 6 finale of the show has also introduced one of the series' biggest and toughest villain namely Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). At the end of the sixth season, Lincoln's character Rick and his gang shockingly witnessed just how cruel Negan can be.

Lincoln told Entertainment Weekly that the end of the previous season showed Rick as a broken man. He explained that his character finally realized that their fragile world has crumbled in just one day. The world that Rick knew and even fought for is set to change in a very big way.

The actor also shared that viewers will see a different Rick in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere. He described his character as a "powerless" and "terrified" man given their dangerous encounter with Negan. The said situation will also lead Rick to realize that there is a bigger world outside of Alexandria, as well as scarier and more formidable threats.

Lincoln also made mention of the aftermath of Negan's kill moment and how it will change the dynamics of the AMC series. He teased that the show's storyline will feature "a bigger end point."

The inner turmoil and personal challenges that McBride's character Carol has endured in Season 6. Some fans hoped that the Carol will form a love line with Norman Reedus' Daryl. However, the said character started a new romance with Tobin (Jason Douglas) prior to her departure from Alexandria.

In another interview with Comic BookMcBride was asked whether or not love would be part of Carol's story arc in "The Walking Dead" Season 7. She replied that her character may have a hard time starting a new relationship.

In addition, McBride commented on how Carol would need to do some self-assessment and inner healing to figure out what she would want to do or where she would want to go. She explained, "I think she's just got to get her mind right before she can even entertain any sort of relationship."

"The Walking Dead" is slated to return to the small screen on Oct. 23. Watch a trailer for the AMC series below:
