Both clubs have started the young season with a win and a loss in the first two weeks of competitions and each one will try to improve their places in the overall standings after this match.

Frankfurt opened their season with a stunning 1-0 win over Schalke before they were tripped by SV Darmstadt 98 in their second game, 0-1, on the road at the Jonathan-Heimes-Stadion am Böllenfalltor last Saturday, as per ESPN.

Darmstadt's substitute defender Sandro Sirigu right-footed a shot from the right side of the box to the top left corner of goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky's net right at the 90th minute mark to seize away the three points and a win for the hosts after grueling action all throughout the match.

With the loss, head coach Niko Kovač's team ended in the middle of the league table, at the ninth spot with three points so far, tied with six other clubs at the moment.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen also has the same record as Frankfurt's only that their win came in their second match as they lost their opening game against Borussia Monchengladbach, 1-2.

Bayer romped Hamburger SV, 3-1, at their home turf of BayArena also last Saturday to register their first win this season with a bang, via SkySports.

Finnish striker Joel Pohjanpalo unleashed a hat trick very late in the match to help the hosts pull off the come-from-behind victory.

After a goalless first half of play, Hamburg forward Bobby Wood broke the deadlock at the 58th minute as he successfully directed Michael Gregoritsch's assist towards the net of keeper Bernd Leno.

However, Pohjanpalo suddenly went berserk, scoring three consecutive goals at the 79th, 90th+1, and 90th+4 minutes to complete the win.
