It was just in 2015 when the superhero themed television series "Jessica Jones" ended its first installment. Since the series is already renewed for a second season earlier this year, recent reports claim that new villains will surface in "Jessica Jones" Season 2.
It has been said before that Jessica (Kristen Ritter) is going to battle various types of antagonists in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. The report says that this has been already confirmed by the executive producer of the series, Melissa Rosenberg. It also said that the villains will probably come from the organization of Will Simpson (Wil Traval).
According to the source, the villains might have introductory scenes in Marvel's "The Defenders," which is said to be released sometime next year. The same publication also noted that David Tennant's portrayal of Kilgrave is hard to fill. It was said that Tennant's role of being the main antagonist in the first installment sets a really high standard to those who will follow.
On the other hand, in regards to the story arcs of the upcoming "Jessica Jones" Season 2, it is said that the show is still going to center on the friendship of Jessica and Trish (Rachael Taylor). This was said to be confirmed by Rosenberg herself when she was asked about the possible storylines of the second installment, cites Entertainment Weekly.
Meanwhile, it seems that everything is going well with "Jessica Jones" series. It was recently announced by Marvel on their official website that the show has once again earned an award, and this time, it is an Emmy. The report said that the series won the Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, and that this is the first time for Marvel television to acquire an Emmy. It can be recalled that "Jessica Jones" already won a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation and a Peabody Award.
Although there is still no fixed air date yet, speculations suggest "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is going to come out in 2018 in order to give way for "The Defenders" in 2017.
