Amidst all the Galaxy Note 7 fire hazard issues and explosions, the Galaxy S8 rumors and speculations are slowly spreading as a new leak shows that Samsung might follow Apple's footsteps with their iPhone 7.

The Cupertino-based company has been criticized for taking out the standard 3.5mm headphone jack in their new iPhone 7 and it would seem that Samsung will be doing the same. Galaxy S8 leaks reveal that the South Korean tech giant could be planning to ditch the headphone jack as well in their upcoming flagship smartphone in 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs

Earlier reports have claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be available in two variants with both donning a curved edge screen. Samsung could use the USB Type-C port instead of the headphone jack or even a new proprietary port for the Galaxy S8, Express.co.uk has learned.

The new flagship smartphone could also be powered by Qualcomm's latest chipset for high-end Android devices and up to 6GB RAM if the new LPDDR4 module from Samsung would be used. In terms of the display, the S8 could be the first Samsung flagship to sport 4K resolution thanks to the recently introduced Bio Blue UHD screen several months ago.

Samsung could also launch the Galaxy S8 with one smaller screen and another with a larger screen, Forbes reported. The devices reportedly have codenames "Dream" and "Dream2," respectively.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date

Of course, the company has not yet confirmed any of the Galaxy S8 rumors and speculations but they are already expected to release the next flagship in early 2017. Considering that the first half of 2016 is over, the teases and hints will grow stronger to the end of the year.

Fans are now worried that Samsung might push through with the removal of the 3.5mm audio jack similar to what Apple has done with the iPhone 7. No comment has been given from the company but more announcements are expected soon.

Samsung might unveil the Galaxy S8 by the end of the year at the earliest. However, a more realistic expectation is around the first months of 2017 as the current S7 devices were just revealed in the same date range.
