With high-caliber torrent sites, Torrentz, KickAss, and PirateBay, exiting the worldwide web after facing issues of intellectual property and piracy parameters, users found renewed strength when clone meta-search engine, tagged as Torrentz2.ue, surfaced together with several sites carrying same "Torrentz" monicker. These include Torrentz.ec, Torrentz.to, and Torrentz.colorask.com.

The farewell of Torrentz, putting its 13 years of service to rest together with its slogan as the "most preferred meta-search engine for searching torrent files," made it possible for other overlooked sites to take the center stage such as the Torrentz2.eu. And now, this alternative website opens downloaders to pirated content that connected various torrent sites.

According to reports, Torrentz2.eu is "free and indexes torrents from other sites." Once searches are made, they offer visitors the option to filter and refine searches. To date, the site has indexed about 55, 105,850 torrents collected from roughly 64 domains.

In addition, other alternatives came up after the voluntary shut down of Torrentz. And as compiled by YIBADA, other handpicked Torrentz alternatives that downloaders could visit are Torrentzeu.to, Torrentz.ec, and Torrentz.colorask.com.

According to YIBADA, Torrentzeu.to is the second working clone of Torrentz. On its home page, it is mentioned that it has got nearly 32,472,600 active torrents in its index.

More so, Torrentz.ec is a relatively new Torrentz alternative, which mentions that it can provide access to pirated content from 25 domains. Its Help Page has stated that it has indexed torrents from 28 domains. Now, it has indexed nearly 27,508,850 torrents.

Aside from the mentioned sites, Torrentz.colorask.com is a torrent search engine with a very simple user interface that is built as an alternative for Torrentz. It mainly provides search results from clone sites of KickassTorrents and ThePirateBay.

However, with debates about the legality of torrents, intellectual property, and piracy resumes rounding up in the internet, users cannot assure full protection against possible risks coming from these torrent sites.

According to reports, torrenting itself is not illegal. It is depending on the content being downloaded that will carry risks of lawsuits and fines. If the content being downloaded is updates for video games, free OS, free apps, there could be no legal issues. However, anti-cybercrime authorities will be chasing users who download Windows 10 or in-cinemas-only movie that is in bittorent client.
