Bayer Leverkusen began the season on the wrong foot with a 1-2 upset in the hands of Borussia Monchengladbach in their season-opener on the road. After that, the team managed to pull off a 3-1 romp over Hamburger SV at home.

They are coming off a sorry 1-2 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in their week 3 game last Saturday at the Commerzbank Arena for their second defeat in three matches so far this term, as per Fox Sports.

Frankfurt captain Alex Meier opened the scoring at the 53rd minute after the two teams ended the first half of play on a goalless draw.

Leverkusen managed to level the count right at the hour mark with a right-footed shot from Mexican striker Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez off an assist from teammate Kevin Volland.

However, the hosts again grabbed the lead at the 79th with a goal from Hernandez's compatriot, midfielder Marco Fabian.

Chicharito had the chance to equalize once again with two minutes remaining before full time, but his spot kick hit the left post of the goal, handing Frankfurt their second win this season.

Meanwhile, Augsburg has also struggled to find wins and just like Bayer the team lost two of their first three games this term as well.

Fuggerstädter was thrashed by Mainz, 1-3, in their game last Sunday at the SGL Arena, via SkySports.

Mainz scored early, at the seventh minute with a goal from Colombian forward Jhon Cordoba, before head coach Dirk Schuster's side equalized at the 73rd with a left-footed shot from outside the penalty box by Greek defender Kostas Stafylidis.

However, the visitors poured in two more goals to defeat Augsburg, courtesy of Turkish midfielder Yunus Malli and Japanese forward Yoshinori Muto at the 75th and 81st minutes.
