In only his first UFC fight, Mickey Gall takes in the newfound fame for bringing down Phil Brooks - more known with his moniker as CM Punk during his days in the WWE.

In the fight, CM Punk made $500,000 which is far low to Gall's $15,000 fight purse.

Even so, Gall takes pride of giving CM Punk the beating of his life and the brutal welcome to the world of mixed martial arts.

He might not took the big money, but Gall left a mark by giving Brooks' a cauliflower ear.

"It's a badge of honor for him," Gall said through MMAFighting.com

"I have a cauliflower ear, too, and I'm proud of that. I've been banging around for awhile and that's why I got that. He earned that cauliflower ear. He should be proud of that."

With that, Gall understands why the UFC had to pay Punk a ridiculous amount of money following a very disappointing performance.

"It's cool," Gall said. "He's a superstar. There's a reason why he's there. Without him, I'm not in that spot, either. It's cool. It's all good. I'm not mad at that, no way."

Gall also understands that it is a good move for the UFC to bring in WWE fans and prove to them that the UFC is the place to be to have a "real" fight.

"I think a lot of people were interested," Gall said. "It brought a lot of WWE fans to watch, a lot of guys who wouldn't have been watching who like the violent stuff, who like this type of action, it brought them over. I had a lot of people contact me to say, 'I watched this fight for Punk and I'm an MMA fan now.' I think it worked. I think it was a smart move and I think it worked."

With the win, Gall is now expecting a bigger pay in his next fight and would not rule out a possible rematch with Brooks.
