Logitech has acquired the Saitek brand and its line of controller products. The peripheral manufacturer wants to take on the industry of virtual reality with this acquisition.

According to the official blog of Logitech, the manufacturer has recently acquired the Saitek brand, and the Saitek line of flight, farm, and space simulation game controllers. These game controllers are used for different video games like "Elite: Dangerous," "Eve Valkyrie," and other simulator games.

The manufacturer praised the products made by Saitek and they know a thing or two about what makes a gaming product stand out. These products have delivered exceptional experiences when they were launched. They also said that the fans from the Saitek forums have praised the products for their excellent performance.

Another reason why the manufacturer purchased the controller manufacturer was to take on the VR industry. They think that simulation games are getting better as the years go by and VR tech integration will come to more of these games soon. These game titles have VR technology enabled and they believe that dedicated controllers will simulate and enhance the experience.

Logitech revealed that they are excited to become a bigger part of the simulation community. They have already produced gaming wheels in the driving simulation market and this will be an addition to their product line. These new products will make it an even more complete experience for their consumers.

The previous owner of Saitek, Mad Catz, sold the brand to their new owners for $13 million only. The gaming peripheral manufacturer purchased the brand for $30 million in 2007, which is a huge difference. From there, they produced its two most popular devices, the X-52 in 2008 and the X-55 in 2014.

The X-52 is considered the standard for spacefaring games, since it is modeled into the in-game cockpits in "Elite: Dangerous." For fans who love terrestrial flight sims, they prefer the X-55.

According to Polygon, after these two popular products were manufactured, many fans have complained about the drop in the quality of Saitek devices. The quality drop happened after Mad Catz took over as owners. Different online stores like Amazon have low customer review ratings for their products.
