"Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" is heading to outer space, but while the environment has changed, many of the essential elements that made the "Call of Duty" one of the most successful gaming franchises of all time has remained. Entering the standard celebrity cameo this time is in the form of "Game of Thrones" actor Kit Harington and UFC star Conor McGregor

In the latest "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" trailer, Harington takes on the role of antagonist Admiral Salen Kotch. The 29-year-old star makes a compelling villain, complete with a scar that runs diagonally from his forehead to his lower cheek and a snarl more chilling than the alien planet the game explores.

Even Activision is a fan of Harington's performance as Admiral Kotch, stating in a press release, "Kit's transition from the fields of Winterfell to the dark vastness of space is seamless."

The company added that Harington will "doggedly pursue the player throughout the Infinite Warfare narrative, eventually leading to a dramatic confrontation," as quoted by The Verge.

Harington's performance was directed by Guy Ritchie.

Harington is not the only heavyweight joining "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare," as the Irishman Conor McGregor is also playing a villain named Captain Bradley Fillion. He is also featured in the "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" trailer, in which he's seen throwing one of his powerful punches.

Popular celebrity cameos aside, the "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" looks as breathtaking as ever. As the game takes place in a new planet and involves space travel, the action ensues on new landscapes. Of course, the meaty, explosive shooting action is still as good as ever.

The "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" release date for the beta version for PlayStation 4 has been set for Oct. 14 this year, and fans may pre-order the game either digitally or physically at nearby retail stores.

According to Charlie Intel, Microsoft Store also briefly announced the release date for the beta on Xbox One. The beta for the said console will be available on Oct .21, just days after the PS4 release.

The "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" full game will be released on Nov. 4.
