South Korean actor Jung Il-Woo, 29, revealed he would love to take up roles similar to "Descendants of the Sun" star Song Joong-Ki. Currently, the "49 Days" actor is portraying Kang Ji Woon in tvN's "Cinderella and Four Knights."

In a sit-down interview with Arirang TV's "Showbiz Korea," Jung shared his excitement for his new romantic-comedy drama, which marks his small screen comeback after two years. He also opened up about his "Cinderella and Four Knights"  co-star Park So Dam, who plays Eun Ha-Won, a brilliant and athletic high school student.

Having the tendency to concentrate more on techniques, Jung was stunned about how the "Beautiful Mind" actress can manage to improvise her acting very well. The former revealed that he got influenced by Park a lot, stressing that their chemistry eventually matches together.

Also, Jung revealed the kind of roles he would like to pursue in the future. He expressed his interest in playing some action roles that will match with his age.

"For example, the role of Song Joong Ki in 'Descendants of the Sun,' which was immensely popular earlier in the year," Jung revealed. "It is a role that I would like to try."

In 2006, Jung made his acting debut with a minor role in the thriller film "The World of Silence." He initially gained widespread fame after portraying a witty modern-day Grim Reaper in SBS's "49 Days."

Jung has been cast in the upcoming Thai series, tentatively titled "Love and Lies" (Gon Rak Game Ma Ya), The Korea Herald reported. It is said that the "High-End Crush" star is the first Korean celebrity to be given a protagonist role in a Thai drama.

In the upcoming Thai series, Jung will portray the role of Tim, a savvy public relations manager of a major management agency. He puts down the scandals of his artists with lies, a scheme his mother continues lecturing him not to do.

"He decided to be on the show because Southeast Asia remains a largely untapped market for 'Hallyu'," the publicist said in a statement obtained by The Nation. "He is feeling the pressure as the first South Korean actor to star in a Thai drama."
