"Train to Busan" actor Gong Yoo has spoken to the @Star1 magazine about how life in the spotlight has changed his life. The 37-year-old star has confessed that acting has left him feeling lonely.

Gong is currently enjoying the success of Yeon Sang-Ho's "Train to Busan." In the hit zombie apocalypse horror film, Gong portrayed a fund manager, Seok Woo, who got separated from his wife and lives with his daughter, Soo-An (Kim Soo Ahn).

The film, which had its premiere in the Midnight Screenings section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, broke the audience record with more than 10 million theatergoers. "Train to Busan," which also stars Jung Yu-Mi and Ma Dong-Seok, has grossed $99 million worldwide.

"I've been lucky this year," Gong told @Star1 magazine, as cited by Soompi. "Although it's been tiring, the reason I'm happy is that everything was 100 percent my choice."

Gong then added that this year seemed to be the busiest and hottest time of his 15-year career as an actor. Even though it is difficult and tiring, the "Coffee Prince" actor stated that he is getting through it, thinking that such thing may never happen again.

After the worldwide success of "Train to Busan," Gong is currently starring in "The Age of Shadows," an espionage film directed by Kim Jee-Woon. The film, which was released on Sept. 7 in South Korea, has topped the South Korean box office for two consecutive weeks, The Korea Herald reported.

In the same interview, Gong also discussed the undeniable talents and hard work of his "The Age of Shadows" co-star Song Kang-Ho. He admitted that there are times he thought about whether the "Green Fish" actor feels lonely and troubled by the weight on him.

"Although we're always standing in front of the public and receiving their love, being an actor seems to be a lonely job," said Gong, when asked if he also feels that way. "I'm getting through it wisely."

Meanwhile, Gong, who catapulted to international fame after starring in MBC's "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince," is slated to make his long-awaited small-screen comeback in tvN's "Goblin.". He will be joined by Lee Dong-Wook, Kim Go-Eun, and Yoo In-Na.
