"Quantico" season 2 premiered with a shocking plot that centered on Alex and Ryan.

Both characters are still working with the FBI, but they are also trying to infiltrate the CIA. Towards the end of the episode, the First Lady was beheaded and Ryan and Alex need to move fast if they want to be able to stop the terrorists who did so.

Meanwhile, the upcoming second episode of "Quantico" is entitled "Lipstick." According to Mary Ferrell Foundation, Lipstick was a large surveillance project by the CIA outside Mexico City. Each of the episode in season 2 will also serve as a CIA cryptonym.

Here's a look at the official synopsis for episode 2: "New CIA recruits run counter-surveillance exercises at The Farm; in the future, Ryan and Raina try to thwart the terrorists' plan to blend in with hostages."

In other news, Alex also found herself at the bottom of the Murder Board in episode 1. This means that she in danger of being thrown out of the program.

This storyline didn't come as a surprise because executive producer Joshua Safran previously told Entertainment Weekly that Alex will continue to face major struggles in season 2.

"Last year she had the answers, she had the solutions, she was the smartest, she was the fastest thinker, so we talked a lot this year about how the FBI and CIA operate incredibly different. It is true that at the FBI, you are taught to be true and just and moral, and at the CIA, you are taught to lie, to deceive, to manipulate, so somebody who has been so good at truth, justice and the American way will have a harder time than somebody else who couldn't quite hit that benchmark," he explained.

"Quantico" season 2 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
