"Quantico" season 2 will see Alex (Priyanka Chopra) and Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) reuniting in the premiere episode.

However, showrunner Josh Safran said that their reunion will only take place for about 45 seconds because a big thing will take place.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Safran said, "The first time you see her, you see them together. Alex and Ryan are dating."

"Something goes terribly wrong between Alex and Ryan within the first 45 seconds of the premiere," he continued.

Meanwhile, Alex will also be joining the CIA when the series returns next month. According to Zap2It, Alex will be at the CIA's private training facility when the series kicks off. She will also be involved in yet another national crisis that has to do with the secret world of espionage.

Since Alex is now in the CIA and her friends are still with the FBI, viewers can anticipate several scenes wherein their bonds will be put to the test. By the looks of it, Alex will also be stuck in between the two organizations.

A slew of new characters will also be introduced in the upcoming episodes of the hit ABC TV series. Some of these characters include Harry (Russell Tovey), Dayana (Pearl Thusi), Owen (Blair Underwood) and Lydia (Tracy Ifeachor).

Another character that is receiving the most attention is Leon (Aaron Diaz), a photo journalist who isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. Leon will be targeting Alex for photos and information especially after her involvement with the series of bomb attacks from season 1.

In other news, Safran told TV Line that season 2 will have a much slower pace compared to season 1. He added that despite the pace, "Quantico" will still follow the two storyline structure they had in season 1.

"Season 2 will keep the two storyline structure because it is - I wish I could tell you what it is, but I can't - the season 2 event is not a huge plot like I'm on the run and I'm being framed, which meant she was constantly on the move and constantly coming into people's stories," he said.

"Quantico" season 2 will premiere on ABC on Sept. 25 at 9 p.m. ET.
