Dana Brooke has been Charlotte's sidekick for the most part of her main roster career since debuting in May. However, the latest rumors imply that the WWE is very high on Brook and she could be getting a run at the Raw Women's Championship really soon.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), the WWE is planning something big for Brooke despite being booked as a weak protégé of the current Raw Women's champion. Charlotte has been treating her sidekick poorly which means a babyface turn is likely to happen.
"They think Dana's gonna be this super babyface, and I don't know where they're seeing this," Meltzer said.
It is also noted that both Sasha Banks and Bayley are merely pawns in the eventual push of Brooke. The Charlotte-Brooke feud will culminate in the next few months with the protégé winning the Raw Women's Championship.
However, these are merely rumors and nothing has been confirmed. It should be taken with a grain of salt since WWE tends to change their plans once it gets leaked online. Meltzer is a very reliable source but his reports are not always correct.
The WWE has focused the attention on the four women mentioned above in the hunt for the Raw Women's title. However, it is baffling for the company to think that Brooke is the next big babyface superstar of the women's division, per Rob Wolkenbrod of FanSided.
Wolkenbrod opined that Banks and Bayley are more over to the crowd than Brooke and they are considered as the top two babyfaces of the division. He also mentioned that Bayley has a really likable character while Banks can work as a face and heel effectively.
Charlotte also has the respect of the crowd while Brooke has not gotten over as much as WWE wants to. She has been booked really badly since her main roster debut getting pinned every week by either Banks or Bayley.
When the seeds of a possible face turn for Brooke were planted several weeks ago, YES chants were heard after she slapped Charlotte. It was a good reaction from the crowd but it has not been replicated since she re-aligned herself with the champ.
