"The Flash" Season 3 might be the show's biggest season yet, as it explores the definitive "Flashpoint" story arc from the comic books. Moreover, new faces are going to make an entrance while some old characters are making a comeback.

Of the many old faces reportedly coming back to the show, Shantel VanSanten is someone fans are very excited to see again. VanSanten, who played Patty Spivot in "The Flash" Season 2, was linked to Grant Gustin's Barry Allen. The character left the show mid-season, and a lot of fans are hoping she'd swing by Central City in Season 3.

Good news: she just might. In an interview with Monkeys Fighting Robots, VanSanten teased about her possible return, saying, "There's a very strong possibility if everything works out."

Although Patty's role was greatly reduced on TV, fans of the comic books know that she played a major presence in Barry's life. According to Screen Rant, Patty suits up as Hot Pursuit in the "Flashpoint" event. As to how Patty could return, she might be involved with the Science Police or Doom Patrol, which was previously hinted to appear in "The Flash" Season 3.

In the meantime, a new trailer for "The Flash" Season 3 was just released and it dispels one of the many mumblings about the "Flashpoint" adaptation for TV.

When "Flashpoint" was announced, there were concerns about Barry and Iris' relationship. Considering they didn't grow up together in the "Flashpoint" arc, they probably might not even be best friends in the current timeline. Iris and Barry do not even have that romantic connection they had in Seasons 1 and 2. If there's anything that's certain about "The Flash" Season 3, it's Barry and Iris' love.

Actress Candice Patton told TVLine that Iris remains Barry's "constant." "You'll get to see Barry try and woo her in "Flashpoint," Patton said, adding that their interaction is "really sweet" and would remind viewers of the show's "pilot" episode.

"The Flash" Season 3 premieres on Oct. 3 on The CW. It will be followed by "Arrow" Season 5 on Oct. 5. "Supergirl" Season 2 will make her debut on The CW on Oct. 10.
