Tottenham has remained unbeaten so far in the young season, kicking off their year with four wins and two draws. The Spurs are currently on a three-game winning run that pushed them up to the second spot of the league table at this time.

Their last game was a 2-1 nipping of newly-promoted side Middlesbrough on the road at the Riverside Stadium last Saturday, as per The Sun.

Playing without resident goalscorer Harry Kane who is currently nursing an ankle injury, South Korean winger Son Heung-min took over scoring chores and led head coach Mauricio Pochettino's side with a brace in the first half of play.

Son broke the deadlock early at the seventh minute then doubled the lead at the 23rd to give the Spurs a two-point advantage entering the halftime interval.

Middlesbrough was able to score a consolation goal with a downward header against Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris at the 65th.

Meanwhile, Manchester City kept its unblemished record intact with a 3-1 thrashing of Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium also last Saturday, Sports Mole reported.

Argentine striker Sergio Agüero netted a brace to announce his return from a three-game ban. He buried his first goal right at the ninth-minute mark, but was quickly leveled by the Swans with a left-foot volley from Spanish forward Fernando Llorente four minutes later.

Swansea defender Mike van der Hoorn was called for a foul with a face-hack on Kevin De Bruyne at the 64th, which led to Agüero's second goal of the game from the penalty spot, giving City a 2-1 lead.

English winger Raheem Sterling sealed the win for head coach Pep Guardiola's side with an amazing strike at the 77th.
