Brad Pitt is fully cooperating with the investigation currently, including a drug test request. A specialist confirmed that the Department of Children and Family Services is looking into the incident because they are required to do so.

A DCFS spokesperson told People that the popular actor took a drug test voluntarily. He is also cooperating with them fully and willingly without any complaints. The spokesperson said that drug testing the parents during abuse investigations is very standard.

Pitt is accused of being verbally abusive and getting physical with his son Maddox. He and his wife Angelina Jolie were returning from France to their Los Angeles home on a private plane on Sept. 14. The L.A. County DCFS started an investigation after it was reported anonymously.

A source told the publication that Pitt is taking the matter very seriously. He clarified that the actor did not commit any abuse of his children. He also said that it is unfortunate that the people that are involved are still continuing to make him look bad.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also referred under the special aircraft jurisdiction, since the incident happened in mid-flight. A source told the publication that the FBI will not recommend investigating further into the matter.

Greenspoon Marder's criminal law practice group chairman David Kubiliun told the publication that he finds it hard to believe that the FBI would take action, with the facts that have been presented. He also does not believe that the child received any injuries.

Another source told the publication that Pitt did not strike Maddox but only made contact with him in the shoulder area. There was no physical injury present, the source explained.

Reuben Raucher & Blum certified family law specialist Stephanie I. Blum told the publication that the DCFS is looking into this because they are required to investigate anything reported. A department representative will explain to the individual of the complaints against him. They will do this in such a way as to protect the identity of the one who reported the incident, she explained.

After the investigation is completed, the department will decide whether or not the allegations are true. If it was false, they will completely close the case.

A source told E! News that Pitt was trying to get over his divorce from Jolie, but their six children remain his priority. The source added that he had been very upset of the situation.

People close to the couple are hoping that the two will be able to settle on something soon. According to the source, things have quieted down.
