"Pokemon Go" is still making $2 million a day, even though its hype is slowing down now. The game may be able to change the demographics of mobile gamers.

According to the official website of Newzoo, the mobile game is still going strong in terms of profits, despite the low overall activity. Over 700,000 people are still downloading it on a daily basis. It has also been reportedly installed over 550 million times, which gained over $470 million in sales.

Niantic gains $2 million every single day with all of these downloads and in-app purchases of the mobile game. When it reached its peak about three weeks after its company launched it, 27 million people were downloading it. The revenue that it brought was over $16 million daily.

While $16 million to $2 million is a big drop, the website analysts pointed out that the mobile game has not yet launched in South Korea and China. When it launches there, the revenue might rise even higher.

The demographic of mobile gaming may be changed over the long run with the introduction of "Pokemon Go." The traditional gamers are now playing it heavily instead of the usual ones. 80 percent of "Smite" and "Dota 2" players are now logged into this game instead in the last three months.

The players of this phenomenal mobile game are actually 43 percent women. This is ten percent higher than the other 100 top mobile games.

The mobile game has helped to grow the overall mobile gaming audience. The website found out that the game has gained over 20 million new mobile gamers across the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, and France. According to the official blog of Google Cloud, the internet company has explained the sudden increase of players was from the result in traffic, which was 50 times the initial target.

Newzoo CEO Peter Warman said in a statement that "Pokemon Go" has opened their eyes in so many ways. It has replaced the top grossing mobile game ranking, which was constantly dominated by a small number of publishers and games in the past. He also said that this has proven that AR can be applied in ways that appeal to a mass audience.
