The cast of "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" will keep Park Bo Gum’s promise to hold a hanbok fansigning day after the Korean period drama series hits a 20 percent viewer rating.
However, they clarified that instead of the Oct. 19 date promised by Park Bo Gum, who plays Lee Yeong, the only son of the king and heir to the throne, they would announce on Oct. 12 another date, reported Allkpop. The producer of the drama said in a statement, “The 19th is not a confirmed date. It was Park Bo Gum who made the promise, but we want to give back to the love from the fans, so the 5 main actors will be attending.”
The hanbok fansigning event would be at Gwanhwamun when the cast would wear hanbok (the traditional clothing of Korea, Park Bo Gum promised if “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” rating would exceed 20 percent, reported Soompi. Episode 7, titled “Confession,” aired on Sept 12, got a 20.4 percent rating in Seoul National Capital Area on TNmS.
The cast explained that since the series’ finale, episode 18, would air on Oct. 18, they would not have time to fulfill Park Bo Gum’s promise because the actors would possibly be still filming until Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 18. Right after the finale episode, the show’s producers would also air a behind-the-scenes special at 11:10 p.m., KST, over KBS 2TV, iTech reported.
The report did not name who the five actors would be, but Allkpop asked fans who they want to see at the event. Soompi added that the show is trying to have all five main actors at the event. Based on the cast list, the five main actors of “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” are Park Bo Gum, Kim Yoo-yung (Hong Ra-on) who was raised by her mother as a boy and eventually becomes a eunuch, Jin Young (Kim Yoon-sung) who is a scholar born to a powerful clan and best friend of Lee Yeong, Chae Soo-bin (Jo Ha-yeon) who was chose as royal consort of Yeong, and Kwak Dong-yeo (Kim Byung yeon) who is the head of the Crown Prince palace’s Royal Guard.
When “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds” debuted episode 1 on Aug. 22, the show got single-digit viewer rating in TNmS (8.7 percent) and AGB Nielsen (9 percent). It again breached 20 percent on Sept. 19 when episode 9, titled “The Moment the Door of My Heart,” got 21.13 percent nationwide and 22.4 percent in Seoul National Capital Area on Nielsen.
