"Deadpool 2" is definitely making its way to the big screen. Despite the R-rating, the first "Deadpool" movie was a smash hit at the box office and fans are expecting that the next movie can only get more explosive and fourth wall-breaking hero wittier.
Earlier this year, it was confirmed that Fox has already given the green light to the sequel, with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returning to write the script. According to The Hollywood Reporter, although Tim Miller has not signed up to direct the sequel yet, Fox intends on having the original creative team together for another round "Deadpool."
So far, nothing has been confirmed yet with respect to the "Deadpool 2" plot. However, there are consistent rumors about a possible Deadpool vs. Cable throw-down in the sequel.
As per Movie Web, "Bloodline" star Kyle Chandler is being considered for the role of Cable. The actor, however, is reportedly not the choice of Miller and Fox.
Another actor being associated with the role is Lima Neeson. The "Taken" star is reportedly who is the studio wants, but Miller doesn't share the same view.
It's explainable why Fox might want Neeson for the role, considering how Cable is portrayed in the comic books. Cable is a time traveling mutant with telepathic powers. He also appears very muscular and heavy-built. Unlike most superheroes on screen, Cable appears to be an older guy, and Neeson perfectly fits the bill.
Meanwhile, actor Ryan Reynolds, who is reprising his role as Deadpool/Wade Wilson in the next movie, is also expecting to go face to face with Cable in the sequel. At one event, Reynolds told a fan that "Cable and Deadpool" is something that is being talked about in the studio.
In another interview, Reynolds hinted that "Deadpool 2" might pave the way to explore X-Men even further.
"In the future I think, if we're doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we're going to really explore the X-Men a lot, and maybe X-Force... X-Force is really my priority. I really want to get that in," Reynolds said about his plans for the franchise.
