Latest rumors predict that Huawei Mate 9 will be unveiled on November 3 instead of November 8 as it was rumored earlier. The Mate 9 will be available in two display variants, one featuring regular flat screen and the other one sporting a dual-edge curved screen.

According to Venture Beat, the Mate 9 that has a standard screen design is codenamed as Manhattan and the device that has a dual-edge curved screen design is codenamed as Long Island. Both the devices are expected to sport 5.9-inch screens.

The Long Island will be arriving with premium specs and its screen is expected to produce quad HD resolution in order to support Android Nougat's Daydream VR feature. On the other hand, the Manhattan Mate 9 would be supporting full HD resolution.

Huawei Mate 9 specifications will be powered by -bit octa-core processor of HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset.It is expected to be in three variants of internal storage and RAM. The 64 GB variant will feature 4 GB RAM whereas 128 GB and 256 GB internal storage variants will have 6 GB of RAM.

It is also been rumored that the Mate 9 variants will come with preinstalled Android Nougat OS out of the box. Both phones will be carrying dual Leica rear cameras of 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel with dual LED flash. The front-facing camera will be of 8-megapixel.

The batteries on both the models will support Super Charge Technology that can charge the battery up to 50 percent by charging it for 5 minutes. Both phones are also pegged to feature iris scanner.

The Manhattan variant will be sold out in international market (including the U.S.) whereas dual-edge curved screen sporting Long Island device will be sold only in China. The pricing of these smartphones are not revealed yet, but it is expected to be out with a starting price of $500.

Initially, the Huawei Mate 8 with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB native storage was launched with a price tag of 2,999 Yuan ($445) in China. Now, its price is now reduced to 2,199 Yuan ($326) on JD.com, a Chinese online shopping website like Amazon.

The Mate 8 variant with dual-SIM 4G version is reduced to 2,299 Yuan ($341) from its launch price of 2,699 Yuan ($400) and variant of full network version reduced to 2,659 Yuan ($395) from 2,999 Yuan ($445), Gizmo china reported.
