The game developers said that they will be adding a single player experience. This new mode will also get new offline AI bots to fight against or cooperate with. The game was initially developed as a multiplayer experience.

Due to the many requests from the fans on different social media, the game developers' forums, and at various conventions, they granted their wish. They have added offline play and Single Player, which they have found a way to accommodate in the budget and schedule.

The game developers said that the video game will be delayed from Fall 2016 to a new launch window scheduled for Spring 2017. The delay is caused by the addition of the new mode and it will become a bigger game for all the fans. They will use the time to develop the single player experience, while they continue to develop the multiplayer section with more content.

Tommy Jarvis will be coming back to Camp Crystal Lake as a playable character in "Friday the 13th: The Game." This character is featured in numerous films in the franchise, and he is one of Jason's main protagonists.

The developers announced that the game will have a new big map called Packanack Lodge. It will be the third playable map for the multiplayer game. Fans of the franchise will be familiar with the map since it is the location of "Friday the 13th Part 2."

For the fans that have backed or pre-ordered to support the game, will get the single player for free when the game is launched. They will not have to pay for any additional charges for it. The new price for the game will now increase from $30 to $40 for the digital copy, while the physical copy will still remain priced at $60.

Fans will be able to try out "Friday the 13th: The Game"  in the Beta tryout. For those who have backed the game will get a Beta key, and they will also get four additional Beta keys to give out to their friends.

Gun Media studio head Wes Keltner said on the official forums of the video game that the first thing that people will read is the delay. He wants to assure everyone that this decision of the delay was a difficult one. He believes that the positives of this delay will far outweigh the negatives and it will offer more content for the fans.
