"Death Note Light up the New World" release date is slated for release in the last week of October this year. And with the upcoming local release date, more information and hype have been introduced online, including "Kira Virus" and the injection of six "Death Notes" in the movie plot.

It has been almost ten years since the world witness the terror brought about by a notebook simply known to be as "Death Note." When a young and brilliant college student managed to unlock the deathly power of the notebook, it unleashed both terror and awe which captivated the imagination of citizens of the world.

With the power to eliminate anyone whose name is written in the notebook or piece of the notebook, Yagami Light or known as Kira for the police, tried to make the world a better place by killing those who do others harm. But such menace was thwarted by another stealthy character, L, who rose from the shadows and tried to capture Light.

Now, ten years have passed and another sequel to the movie "Death Note: The Last Name" is being introduced. According to reports, the sequel dubbed as "Light up the New World" is set in highly advanced information society plagued with global cyber-terrorism.

AnimeNewsNetwork pointed out that together with the change of scenery and setting, new charismatic characters will be included in the upcoming movie. The successors of Light and L will wage war over six "Death Notes" on Earth according to the report.

The additional six notebooks owned by "Shinigami or Gods of Death" caters a potential plot twist involved in the upcoming movie. In the original manga of Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, where the movie was adapted, "Six-Note Rule" exist. This rule was note perfectly discussed in the previous movies but would likely be included in the next installment of the franchise.

Major preparations are being made for the upcoming Japanese release of the film this October 29, 2016. Two teaser advertisements were recently released entitled "Panic" and "Justice," according to ComicBook. "Kira Virus" was also introduced in a teaser clip along with a message from Kira himself.

The said virus as seen on the clip hijacks mobile phones causing glitches for a period of time before Kira appears on the screen. And was what being depicted on the teaser, massive death, and chaos will soon envelop Earth as the successor of Kira and L fight over the six Shinigami notes in the upcoming "Death Note Light up the New World."
