While many believed that the said post is in line with the celebration of National Coming Out Day for the LGBTQ community, others were left perplexed about its real message. It even sparked rumors that the Girls' Generation member is a lesbian, believing that the colorful photo is a sign of coming out.

However, many did not buy it, considering her previous relationship with EXO's Baekhyun. It can be recalled that the two S.M. artists officially became an item in February 2014 after they developed romantic feelings for each other.

However, it was later reported that Taeyeon and Baekhyun have decided to end their romance as their busy schedules keep getting in the way. The two naturally grew apart as they are both focused on their individual activities, according to local news outlet Sports Today, as cited by All Kpop.

Meanwhile, Taeyeon debuted as a member of Girls' Generation in August 2007. Due to her unique vocal abilities, she became the best female vocalist by 20 music companies in April.

In early September, Taeyeon was chosen as the new brand icon of Banila Co. The stylish cosmetic brand tapped the Girls' Generation member since she has already proven her brand power at home and abroad, according to the Korean Business Research Institute, as cited by Soompi.
