Newly-promoted side Cagliari Calcio (4-3-1, 13 points) will try to extend their three-game winning run as they clash with perennial contenders ACF Fiorentina (2-2-3, 9 points) at the Sant'Elia Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 23 as the 2016-2017 Serie A season continues.

Cagliari, last season's Serie B champions and one of three promoted teams to the Italian top flight this season, is having an impressive Serie A campaign so far.
The team has won its previous three games and four of their last five as head coach Massimo Rastelli's boys are playing inspired right now.
Their most recent match ended in a 2-1 upset win over top squad Inter Milan on the road at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza last Sunday, as per The Guardian.
It was a tight game from the kickoff as both sides failed to score in the first 55 minutes of the match until Inter midfielder Joao Mario netted the opening goal via a right-footed strike from close range.
Cagliari striker Federico Melchiorri was able to find the equalizer 16 minutes later with a one-on-one goal against Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic.
It was a tough break for the hosts, though, as they conceded the win to Gli Isolani with an own goal by Handanovic in the 85th minute.
Meanwhile, Fiorentina was held to a goalless draw by middling squad Atalanta at their own home ground of Artemio Franchi Stadium last Sunday, SB Nation reported.
It was the fourth consecutive winless effort for head coach Paulo Sousa's squad as the team dropped to the 14th spot of the league table, only three points above the bottom three relegation zone.
Viola is favored to snap their winless spell against I Sardi despite being the road team as they are due to have a breakthrough performance. However, Rastelli and his men are always prepared to pull off an upset.
