New details for "Star Wars Battlefront" will feature the release date of the "Scarif" DLC next month and new sequel in the Fall 2017.
It seems that the release date for "Star Wars Battlefront's" new "Scarif" expansion has been revealed as several rumors hint that the upcoming DLC will likely launch on December, possibly coinciding with the new "Star Wars" film, "Rogue One".
The new DLC will feature the "Rogue One" characters Jyn Orso and Imperial Director Orson Kennic as playable characters for the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. There will also be new weapons and a new battlefield setting which is tropical beach-like planet, GameNGuide reported.
The "Rogue One" movie, is scheduled to premiere on Dec. 16. Electronic Arts and DICE is expected to roll out several teaser materials about the upcoming DLC for "Star Wars Battlefront" before the film's release.
In other news, EA and DICE the sequel for "Star Wars Battlefront" is in the works as EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen told Polygon(via Gamespot) that the game will be released "a year from now" and they are working very hard to make sure it wll extremely deep and engaging.
Jorgensen added that "Star Wars Battlefront 2" will have bigger and better worlds and add several contents from the new "Star Wars" movies. EA plans to release one new "Star Wars" game every year for the next three to four years.
It is no suprise that the game developers will immediately worked on a sequel to "Star Wars Battlefront" as the first game has shipped 14 million copies, which was ahead of the company's expectations for the shooter.
DICE is developing Star Wars Battlefront 2 alongside another EA developer, Motive Studios. EA also announced "Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition" this month and it will feature all of the game's free DLC updates, season passes and expansions such as "Outer Rim", "Bespin", "Death Star" and upcoming "Scarif".
Gamers can get a hold of the "Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition" at a price of $40 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. EA reminded gamers that all "Star Wars Battlefront" PS4 owners will be able to play the "Rogue One: X-wing" VR Mission for free sometime this holiday season, and promised in-game events and giveaways over the next few months, including a 4X score and free DLC trial event from Nov. 18-20.
"Star Wars Battlefront" is currently available in stores for the PS4, Xbox One and for the PC.
