The problem with character development of Batman in the recent “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie – which was panned by critics – is apparently also hounding Ben Affleck’s standalone “Batman” film.

The actor’s debut as the superhero in the blockbuster film go mixed reviews, but many moviegoers enjoyed Affleck’s performance. However, the upcoming “Batman” movie of Affleck is allegedly suffering from flawed script, according to Bret Easton Ellis, author of “American Psycho.”

However, Gizmodo pointed out that Ellis, who wrote a larger article about the American film industry, based his story on third-hand sources. They are other movie producers who got the news from executives who knew other executives working on Affleck’s “Batman” film.

In an article on The Ringer, Ellis wrote that while having a dinner with several executives, the issue of serious problems with the “Batman” script cropped up. They quoted the second set of movie executives as complaining to production people about 30 things wrong with the upcoming films which they could fix.

However, executives of the film reportedly replied, “We don’t care. We don’t really care. The amount of money we’re going to make globally, I mean 70 percent of our audience is not going to be seeing this in English. And it doesn’t really matter, these things that you’re bringing up about the flaws of the script.’”

Comicbook added that Affleck himself has admitted that he was not satisfied with the script. “We're still working on it and I'm not happy enough with it yet to actually go out there and make a Batman movie, which I would have the highest of standards I would say,” the website quoted the actor during its visit to the Justice League set.

Affleck is working with Geoff Johns, entertainment COO of DC, on the “Batman” script.
