Shingeki no Kyojin chapter 87 spoilers are finally here and it just answered one of the mysteries in the manga series - Where do these brainless human-eating giants come from?
Titanized Eldian Revivalists - Spoilers:
After providing its readers with important back story of Grisha Yeager and the history of the world, the next chapter of Hajima Isayama post-apocalyptic manga story will focus on Dr. Yeager's journey in Paridis Island and into the walled civilization of Eldians.
Chapter 87 will basically pick up where the previous chapter left off. As Marleyan empire pushes its plan to clandestinely invade fossil-fuel rich Paridis Island by using healthy Eldian children as titan shifters, Grisha and his wife, Dina Fritz - the last of the Royal Fritz family in Marley - volunteers their son Zeke (the Ape Titan) to become one of them.
They initially thought they could use Zeke to infiltrate the Marley government, but their plan backfired as their son was completely brainwashed to the point of exposing his parents and the Eldian revivalists to the Marleyan.
As punishment for their treachery, Eldian revivalists - possibly including Grisha and Dina - were injected by titan serum that turned them into brainless human-eating titans. They were subsequently dumped into the southern side of Paradis Island, making it easy for the Marley-backed titan shifter to infiltrate the walled city.

The spoilers detailing the 'titanization' of Eldian revivalists are just one of many big reveals in the upcoming chapter. Surprisingly, there are still tons of questions remain unanswered up to this point, including the true identity of the story's main protagonist Eren.
There are speculations that Eren isn't even a Yeager to begin with. Perhaps, he's an experiment of Dr. Yeager aimed to defeat the Marley Empire. After all, he has long desired for Eldian to take over the world from the Marleyan again.
Then there's the Fritz-Reiss conundrum. How Reiss rise to power and become the true ruler of the wall? And why Orientals and Ackerman clan - the descendants of Mikasa and Levi Ackerman - are important piece in the puzzle.
Chapter 87 of Attack on Titan / SHingeki no Kyojin will be released in the upcoming issue of Bessatsu Shonen on November 9th.
