The latest details for "StarCraft 2" will feature two new maps, "War Chest" and Alexei Stukov in the "Nova Covert Ops" DLC.

Blizzard Entertainment announced new game features for "StarCraft 2's" DLC expansion "Nova Covert Ops" during the 2016 BlizzCon event. The company stated that the third and final "Nova Covert Ops" mission will launch this month along with a new co-op commander Alexei Stukov.

Alexei Stukov in "StarCraft 2" is a former Terran commander turned Zerg infected. Blizzard explained that Alexa's gameplay will be a combination of both Terran and Zerg forces as he uses Siege Tanks equipped with tentacles. These can also be loaded with explosive infested infantry. He can infest nests which continuously generate a swarm of troops which can be used to wear down the opponent’s defenses.

Blizzard also announced that two new maps are also planned for co-op in "StarCraft 2". The first is called "Miner Evacuation", which is overrun by hostile infested units and players will need to evacuate all of the miners stranded on the planet. Players will need to protect shuttles as the passengers are loaded and prepared for take off.

The second new map is called "Left2Die", the 2011 Blizzard-made custom map based on Outbreak. The map has been revived and added to co-op, but it is called "Dead of Night".

Blizzard will update the level so in order to withstand high level commanders. It will feature the same day and night cycle as well as the same, powerful mutant infested wreaking havoc in the map.

Co-op Mission Leaderboards is in the works for "StarCraft 2", and will provide players with information on how well they performed on missions. These can be compared to friends and other players in the same region. Scores for specific commanders, maps, and weekly mutations will be tracked.

Lastly, Blizzard introduces the "War Chest", a virtual treasure map which players can purchase to earn new in-game content by playing various game modes. Players will earn more rewards the more they play, and the "War Chest" will even come with its own seasons with new content.

The rewards include new faction-specific skins for each race, such as the Tal’darim, Primal Zerg, and the Terran mercenaries. New digital comics are also planned with each new "War Chest" season. The three comics will involve each of the races and will be readable within "StarCraft 2". New command console skins will also be offered as a reward.

Blizzard plans to launch "War Chest" two seasons a year, with each season tied to major eSport events as a portion of the proceeds from the sale will go towards Global eSports Initiatives. The company will reveal more details of the "War Chest" will be revealed in the first haft of 2017, VG 24/7 reported.

Other features include new daily Mutations, an arcade mode, custom tournament, a "watch" tab and many more.

The third "Nova Covert Ops" DLC mission will launch on Nov. 22 and cost around $7.49, however, the bundle offer for all trilogy packs will be available at a discounted price of $14.99.

Those who have purchased the first mission pack are not eligible for the discounted mission bundle price. The official "StarCraft 2" Battle.net website stated that the undiscounted bundle at $22.47. A bonus in-game ghost unit skin for Starcraft 2 will be received by those who purchased all mission packs.

"StarCraft 2" is currently available in the PC platform.
