Samsung seems to be betting big on their upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone as they indirectly confirmed it might feature a highly-advanced artificial intelligence digital assistant that will help people forget the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

The Galaxy Note 7 recall is not yet finished as some people refuse to turn in their smartphones. However, Samsung already has a plan to bury their mistake and to get back on track for 2017 through the Galaxy S8 smartphone.

Samsung has recently acquired Viv Labs Inc, an AI software company based in the United States, and they seem to be using their acquisition to help push the software boundaries of their next flagship smartphone. Rehee In-jong, the executive vice president of Samsung, said that the Galaxy S8 will have Ai that is different from Google's or Apple's Siri, Bloomberg has learned.

AI assistants are already powerful compared to several years ago. However, they are still limited in the tasks that they can do such as fetching flight or restaurant information.

The Korean tech giant's upcoming Galaxy S8 has been reportedly delayed because Samsung is set on finding the cause of the battery fires in the Galaxy Note 7. Initially, the Galaxy S8 phone has been expected to be revealed in Q1 2017 but it could be pushed later down the timeline due to the premature exit of the phablet, Engadget reported.

Samsung's reputation has been damaged by the Galaxy Note 7 problems as they still try to recall all of the phones to prevent further accidents from happening. The Galaxy S8 could possibly save the company if the improvements and upgrades are over the top.

Besides the advanced AI, the Galaxy S8 is also rumored to feature the BioBlue 4K screen that Samsung presented several weeks ago at an event. The said screen is also bendable and could very well take on the curved edge screen once again that has been started by the Galaxy S6 Edge variant.
