The LG G5 was the first LG handset to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat but it can be remembered that LG V20 was pre-installed with the same software as it came out the box. Nevertheless, a handful of smartphones from the South Korean tech company is expected to obtain similar OS upgrade.

Indian Express had learned that upon updating LG G5 to Android 7.0 Nougat owners of the said device will notice new features along with LG's own customizations, such as search capability within apps. The multi-window feature lets app switching by double tapping or running two apps side by side.

For reference, the LG G5 was unveiled in India on June 2016 and was tagged at Rs 52,990. It can be remembered as the first modular smartphone by LG Electronics and it sports a 5.3-inch Quad HD IPS display with 'always-on mode'. This flagship handset is engineered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, and comes packed with 4GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage.

The LG G5 also boasts a dual rear camera. While the primary rear-facing camera lens is 16MP, the other is an 8MP one that is used for wide-angle shots. The South Korean tech has tuned its software for both the rear cameras to work independently. It is powered by a 2800 mAh battery that can be expanded to 4,000 mAh using a CAM Plus module.

Aside from the LG G5, Gotta Be Mobile cited other LG devices that have potential for the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The lists include the LG G4, LG V10, and other budget devices and possibly even the older LG G3 will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat. Nevertheless, LG hasn't confirmed if the G3 will obtain the latest software but some benchmark results were recently spotted with the device running on Nougat software.

Seeing the LG G5 running on Android 7.0 Nougat may be a good start for LG Electronics in delivering the upgrade to other eligible device. Avid fans of the South Korean smartphone maker must wait for further announcements and details.
