Armenia has yet to taste a victory in the World Cup qualifiers as they lost to Denmark, Romania, and Poland in successive fashion.

The squad has yet to be graced by team captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but the Manchester United midfielder is available in this match versus Montenegro so it could be a different outcome for head coach Artur Petrosyan's side.

The Collective Team conceded a sorry 1-2 loss to powerhouse squad Poland on the road at the National Stadium in Warsaw during the previous matchday on Oct. 11, BBC Sport reported.

After a goalless first half of play, Armenia center back Hrayr Mkoyan buried an own goal in the 48th minute of the match to give the one-point lead to the hosts.

Armenia striker Marcos Pizzelli was then able to equalize the count two minutes later to give the visitors a chance to earn their first win in the tournament.

However, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, Poland's team captain, netted the winning goal five minutes into stoppage time to deny Armenia their first point in the Group E standings.

Meanwhile, lowly-ranked Montenegro stunned the competitions as they remained unbeaten after three matches.

Their last game was a 1-0 upset win over Denmark on the road at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen also on Oct. 11, as per Yahoo Sports.

Dynamo Moscow striker Fatos Beciraj scored what proved to be the winning goal of the contest in the 32nd minute off an assist from Inter Milan forward and Montenegro vice-captain Stevan Jovetic.

It was the second straight victory for head coach Ljubiša Tumbaković's men after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Romania in their tournament-opener in September.
