Struggling team Slovakia (1-2-0, 3 points) will look to win a second straight game in the UEFA 2018 World Cup qualifying tournament as they take on the challenge of second-running squad Lithuania (1-0-2, 5 points) at their home field of Štadión Antona Malatinského in Trnava on Friday, Nov. 11.

Slovakia began the tournament with two consecutive defeats, losing to powerhouse team England, 0-1, in their opener before succumbing to Slovenia in their second game with another sorry 0-1 decision.

The Falcons finally claimed their first win and three points in the competitions after routing Scotland, 3-0, also at their home ground in Trnava on Oct. 11, as per the Mirror.

Zenit Saint Petersburg winger Robert Mak was the man of the match for the Slovaks with a brace and an assist as he was directly responsible for all the three goals of the hosts.

It was a bounce-back win for head coach Jan Kozak's squad with netting the first two goals of the contest in the 18th and 56th minutes before he assisted on Dinamo Bucuresti forward Adam Nemec' goal, which sealed the game in the 68th for the home team.

The game was close right from the kickoff and it took head coach Edgaras Jankauskas' side until the 76th minute to finally break the deadlock with a goal from team captain Fiodor Cernych.

Winger Arvydas Novikovas doubled the lead with a penalty kick in the 84th minute to give the Lithuanians their first win in the qualifiers.
