The Lenovo Moto M that has arrived with mid-range specs is a new rival for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.Here is a comparison between these two devices based on their specifications, features and price.

Design and Display

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features metal unibody design and is available in three colors options like Silver, Gray and Gold. Having a weight of 175 grams, it measures 151 x 76 x 8.4 mm in dimensions. The Lenovo Moto M is also packed in a metal unibody design and comes in color options like Gold and Silver. It measures 151.4 x 75.4 x 7.9 mm and weighs only 163 grams.

The Redmi Note 4 has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display whereas Moto M has 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display covered with 2.5D curved glass. Both the displays deliver full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with pixel density of 401 ppi.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

The Redmi Note 4 receives the power from MediaTek MT6797 Helio X20 chipset. It has a deca-core 2.1 GHz processor. It comes with two variants of internal storage such as 16 GB and 64 GB that respectively feature 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM.

The Moto M is powered by MediaTek MT6755 Helio P15 chipset. It has an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz speed. It has an internal storage capacity of 32 GB with 4 GB of RAM. Both the smartphones have option to extend the storage capacity up to 256 GB through microSD card.

Camera, Software and Other features

The Redmi Note 4 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED flash and 5-megapixel front camera with the support of full HD recording. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with MIUI 8.0 out of the box.

The Lenovo Moto M is equipped with16-megapixel rear camera enabled with single LED flash and 8-megapixel front facing selfie camera with full HD recording. It also comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS preinstalled.

Both the devices are feature fingerprint sensor under their rear camera. The Moto M is the first device from Motorola family to have fingerprint scanner on the rear side, BGR reported.  

Battery and Price

The Redmi Note 4 is packed with 4,100 mAh battery whereas Moto M is power housed with 3,050 mAh battery. Batteries of both the devices are equipped with fast charging support.

Both the smartphones are currently available only in China. However, their release dates for international markets have not yet been announced officially.

The 16 GB and 64 GB variants of Redmi Note 4 are available for RMB 899 ($135) and RMB 1199 ($180), respectively. On the other hand, the Moto M is available at a price of RMB 1999 ($295), NDTV reported.
