Some Android smartphones started to receive in October the new latest update of the Android security patch, specifically the Samsung A8. The A8, which has a dual-SIM variant, would receive the updated security upgraded for 68 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) in the Android OS and seven for bugs present in firm’s latest smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy A8, one of the last devices in Samsung’s lineup to get the October security patch, is basically very similar to the Samsung S7/Note and specs of Samsung Galaxy S6. Only 5.9 millimeters thick, the Samsung Galaxy 8A is one of the thinnest smartphone today with a metal case weighing 1,151 grams.
Samsung Galaxy A8 is an "over the air" (OTA) device that can be accessed on a phone without the need for a USB cable or a local Bluetooth connection, according to Sammobile. It is often associated with firmware updates and personal information synchronization. To check if your Android Samsung A8 OTA is ready for the upgrade, go to Settings » About Device » Download Updates Manually. But the phone must have at least 50 percent of battery to receive that alert.
For October, Samsung began distributing Security Maintenance Release (SMR) for its flagship handsets. In November, the SMR is expected to reach phones within its budget-friendly range.
In Europe, Samsung is pushing the November security patch to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. In Italy, it is expected to reach factory unlocked models, while over the next three weeks, it is expected to reach other countries in Europe.
According to the changelog in the official Mobile Security blog of Samsung, the November release bundles patches for Vulnerabilities and Exposures in the Android OS and fixes for 14 specific bugs in Samsung mobile phones.
