The VR experience needs users to put on a headset making them concentrate on the action while ceasing to pay attention to the remaining world. Now, NFL fans can see NFL highlights delivered by NextVR on the Samsung Gear VR headset.

Incorporating the NFL to NextVR's increasing content partnership portfolio once again confirms the company's unparalleled technology and its capability to deliver an amazing virtual reality experience to all sports fans," the website reported the company executive chairman, Brad Allen, as saying. All over the world, NFL fans are always yearning for more football and the collaboration between NextVR and NFL will help to fulfill this demand, as they will be delivering an extraordinary VR experience to fans in the U.S. as well as worldwide, he added.

According to NFL director of media strategy and business development, William Deng, the collaboration helps to offer the league an opportunity to keep on experimenting with VR. Today VR is evolving rapidly and this is a wonderful chance for the NFL to keep playing with the potentials as well as distribution of virtual reality experiences, CNET quoted Deng as saying.

As far as NextVR is concerned, the collaboration with NFL adds another jewel to its continuously growing sports packages. The NFL game highlight VR experiences will be of around 10-minute duration each and will be hosted by expert broadcaster Danyelle Sargent and 13-year NFL veteran Ephraim Salaam. They will be providing expert commentary along with game highlights.

In October, the California-based tech firm Laguna Beach partnered with NBA to broadcast 25 games of this season in virtual reality. Earlier this year, the company has shown a series of varied games including the US Open, the MLB, Masters Golf tournament, pro boxing, Home Run Derby, the Big East College basketball, Nascar's Daytona 500, in addition to many live concerts in VR.
