Known for his lazy boss George role in "Seinfeld," Daniel von Bargen died at 64 after losing to his battle against diabetes for the last five years. According to Variety, he died on March 1 in his home in Montgomery, Ohio.

Von Bargen is also called on roles for irate cops, a judge, a district attorney or other authoritative figures and spent a lot of time as per his career onstage starring in "London Betty" back in 2009 in the play by Thomas Edward Seymour.

The star was originally from Cincinnati and finished his studies as a drama major in Purdue University. He first made his debut in Broadway when he played a military figure named Major Manley Battle in the 1989 play "Mastergate" by Larry Gelbart.

In February 2012, von Bargen made headlines when he was injured after he shot himself in the head and it appeared to be a suicide attempt. He was reportedly stressed out due to having his leg amputated an two toes removed due to diabetes that is why he wanted to take his life.

Aside from the shows "The West Wing", "NYPD Blue", "Malcolm In The Middle" as Air Force General Ken Shannon, and "Law & Order," von Bargen was also featured in movies such as "Robocop 3", "Broken Arrow", "Super Troopers", and "O Brother Where Art Thou?" His role in the 1997 film "The Postman" as the sheriff was regarded as one of his most outstanding work.

Moreover, von Bargen had supporting roles in films such as "The Silence of the Lambs," "Philadelphia," "Rising Sun," "Amistad" and "The Postman." He also showcased his acting skills in an HBO 1995 biopic when he took the role of General Douglas MacArthur.
