An extensive study performed by a Germany-based website Computer Based revealed the real numbers behind the two phone's already powerful specification. The website used reliable benchmarking software such as GeekBench, GFX Bench 3 and 3DMark in order to provide a concise and accurate differentiation of the two smartphone.

One of the highly debated aspects of the rivalry is its processor and using the benchmarking tools, Computer Based came out with the following results.

First the Galaxy S6 and its S6 Edge variant ditched its usual processor, Qualcomm, and instead used its own chip called the Exynos 7429. As a result of the switch the Galaxy S6 edged out Apple's A8 processor by almost 56 percent. Additionally, the Exynos chip is also 15 percent faster compared to the Snapdragon 810 chip used in all of the Galaxy S6's rivals including the HTC One M9.

In terms of single-core performance, Apple's A8 outperformed the Exynos by 13 percent but when both the chip were used into extensive gaming the Samsung chip emerges faster of the two according to 3DMark and GFX 3 benchmarking tools, according to Forbes.

There are however few consequences to the unparalleled computing power of the Exynos and one of it is power usage. Due the chip's extreme processing capability it demands additional power which means the battery will be drained faster. To counter this weakness Samsung designed the Galaxy S6 for wireless charging which means the phone doesn't need to be plugged to a power outlet in order to recharge the battery.
