Embarking on a career in both the music and acting industries can be a difficult endeavor, however, South Korean celebrity YoonA is willing to face various challenges to attain her dreams. With the negative impressions that judged Kpop idol group members as performers with limited acting talent, the Girls Generation singer had to break through prejudices to make her mark in the acting world.

Despite Yoona's determination to become an actress yet still retain her career as a member of Girls Generation, she shared that she experienced apprehensions in changing her image. In an interview with Sports Donga, YoonA revealed how she felt scared and was worried about portraying a character that is different from her bright and bubbly image as a singer.

In YoonA's earlier acting projects, most of her roles consisted of young ladies who were optimistic and had a positive attitude about life such as her characters in the TV dramas "Love Rain" and "Prime Minister and I." However, the Girls Generation singer's role as Anna in "The K2" was a departure from previous roles.

Described as a young woman with a social disorder, Anna has a lot of emotional scars after witnessing the death of her mother and being an illegitimate daughter of a presidential candidate. "The K2" role called out to YoonA since it was a role that she had never done before, according to the Girls Generation group member.

Having completed the tvN production, the South Korean celebrity admitted that she learned a lot from her "The K2" co-stars. The drama also changed YoonA's perspective about acting and served to whet her curiosity in trying out diverse roles in future acting projects.

YoonA also made a similar comment in an interview with Yonhap News where she talked about her Anna role in the tvN series. She said, "I took the role mainly because I wanted to do something different. In that sense, I can say I achieved my goal."

"The K2" ended its 16-episode run on Nov. 12 on tvN. Watch a snippet of YoonA's performance in the said drama below:
