Majority of us would be hyped if our parents bought us something nice. Perhaps the latest smartphone. Or maybe an entire flat. Well, not this guy.
A Chinese man was recently caught on camera attacking his parents. The reason? They bought him an apartment that was "too small."
In the video, a young man can be seen beating up an older couple in the middle of the streets of Harbin in northeast China.
The footage has since been viral across Chinese social media. And no matter how many times you view it, it just gets even more painful to watch.
The couple, who gave their son probably his first own home as a wedding present, looked helpless as the latter tried to hit them along the busy road.
The parents tried to defend themselves as they took the beating until concerned passersby intervened, realizing that the man was hitting his own mother and father.
Had the police not mediated, the furious mob would have given the ungrateful man an equally agonizing beating he just gave his parents.
When apprehending authorities asked for a statement from the suspect, the latter admitted to have been enraged by his parents for buying him a "too small" of an apartment.
The viral video shocked many Internet citizens, eliciting outrage toward the ungrateful son and filial sympathy to his parents.
