Fans of the TV series "Gilmore Girls" were given a chance to revisit beloved characters' lives in the show's recent Netflix reboot. With the shocking twist to the four-episode special, Alexis Bledel shared her thoughts about her character Rory's surprising revelation.

"Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" featured a special look at Lorelai (Lauren Graham), Emily (Kelly Bishop) and Rory's (Bledel) lives several years after the show ended its seven-season run in 2007. With four 90-minute episodes to mark the passing of winter, spring, summer and fall, viewers witnessed the Gilmore ladies' personal struggles.

However, many viewers were surprised when the final episode of the Netflix reboot ended with a cliffhanger scene. Following Rory's confession to Lorelai that she was pregnant, the scene changed to show the series' credits without revealing what could have been a touching mother-daughter moment.

Meanwhile, the revelation shocked several "Gilmore Girls" fans. Bledel even shared that she was surprised to learn about Rory's pregnancy. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress stated that she never imagined Rory will become a single mother like Lorelai.

When asked if Bledel will be open to joining a potential spin-off to show Rory's journey into motherhood, the actress commented that it would depend on the story. However, at this time, the Hollywood star is grateful to have been given the chance to revisit her role in "Gilmore Girls."

She added, "I'm not even looking forward necessarily at the prospect of doing more. I also feel like it's such a special story that I don't want to exploit it, or do too much, you know?"

It is also unclear if showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino will be open to revisiting "Gilmore Girls" again or potentially introduce a spin-off to the hit series. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the series creator hinted of how she would like to see the viewers' reaction to the Netflix reboot before picking up a potential new project for the series.
